My interview with Melissa Burton (mykidsinheritance in the forum) shows that love, a caring persona, and a will to reach the top will propel you to leave a lasting legacy. What I respect most about her is that she loves the Plug-In Profit Site business, but it is second hand compared to her family.
Melissa, please tell us about yourself.
"Who is Melissa Burton? Let's see...my website kind of says it all --mykidsinheritance. I've spent my whole adult life raising kids, mostly alone, and they are the reason for everything I do. I believe our children are our legacy and a really good reason to give 150% to everything we do. I have three adult children and a beautiful grandson, and I feel so very blessed."
How did you come across PIPS and why did you join?
"I was introduced to Plug-In Profit Site through a friend named Joe Warren who I met through the Rich Dad program actually, and we talked about Robert Kiyosaki's philosophy of multiple streams of income. He advocates Internet marketing, which was foreign to me, so I went to Joe's PIPS website and thought, 'Wow, I can do that!' .
Well, I got overwhelmed pretty quickly, and the phone rang one night and it was Joe just checking up on me and saying, 'How are you doing on the 30 Days to Success?'. He refocused me and the rest is history. We never even met!"
What has been your best learning tool for your Plug-In Profit Site business?
"One of the things I like best about the program is that it guides you to the Warrior Forum. Wow, what a great group of folks who have been wherever it is that you're stumbling and are willing to help smooth the way. Jeff Casmer, Jeff Schuman, Suzanne Morrison, Dustin Cannon -- I really count these folks among my real friends, though we've never personally met, because without them I would NEVER be where I am now. They're not just business partners, though I've used all of their services and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. They are family; I appreciate them that much.
What would you do differently if you started all over again?
"If I had it to do over, I'd follow the system exactly -- I dropped out of Success University early on, and now wish I hadn't because the education it gives you is invaluable. I realize it's a great avenue for residual income and all that, but what each Internet marketing newbie needs is KNOWLEDGE and GUIDANCE, and they really teach you to be a better student and leader."
What is your motivating factor?
"Like I said in my intro and it may sound corny, but my family is my main motivation. I listen to Cd's when I'm in my car that I get from SU and the speaker was talking about how you need to dream and dream really big to be motivated to succeed. He said that if you want your kids to believe that they can be anything they want to be when they grow up, you have to prove it to them by showing them that any goal they set is reachable if you set action steps and work hard to achieve them.
This hit home with me, because it really is true -- and age doesn't matter.
But also, it's my affiliates that motivate me. You may start to feel discouraged when your progress in your business hits a lull, and then, all of a sudden you get an email from an excited new affiliate saying, 'What do I need to do next?', and your fire is lit all over again.
On a good day I get 20 emails from affiliates with questions and I answer each one quickly and completely, because I don't want it to be because of me that they become one of those 95% (or whatever the horrible number is) that fail. Not on my watch!"
What would you like to see in the future from PIPS?
"I'd love to see more importance placed in PIPS on being a good affiliate sponsor. I really don't think it's a numbers game, these are real people, with real hopes, and real dreams and if you can help them shortcut some of the bumps you've already been over, you need to help in any way possible. I don't recommend products or programs to my team that I haven't had success with myself just to make a quick buck. I'm in it for the long haul, and I want each and every member of my team to be there with me."

Lovin' life...."
"Lovin' life...". That is such a tremendous attribute to have. She wants success for not only herself, but also for her family, and everyone involved in her business. People who embrace these attitudes and outlooks will glare at the world from the peak at the top of the mountain.
"Flaming enthusiasm, backed by horse sense and persistence, is the quality that most frequently makes for success."
