IRS Increases Mileage Rates through Dec. 31, 2008 - The Internal Revenue Service has announced an increase in the optional standard mileage rates for the final six months of 2008. Taxpayers may use the optional standard rates to calculate the deductible costs of operating an automobile for business, charitable, medical or moving purposes.
The rate will increase to 58.5 cents a mile for all business miles driven from July 1, 2008, through Dec. 31, 2008. This is an increase of eight (8) cents from the 50.5 cent rate in effect for the first six months of 2008, as set forth in Rev. Proc. 2007-70. In recognition of recent gasoline price increases, the IRS made this special adjustment for the final months of 2008. The IRS normally updates the mileage rates once a year in the fall for the next calendar year.
While gasoline is a significant factor in the mileage figure, other items enter into the calculation of mileage rates, such as depreciation and insurance and other fixed and variable costs. The optional business standard mileage rate is used to compute the deductible costs of operating an automobile for business use in lieu of tracking actual costs. This rate is also used as a benchmark by the federal government and many businesses to reimburse their employees for mileage.

"7 things you absolutely MUST know about your prospects.
1. Age- Everything you say and write, including slang, allusions, word difficulty, and topics should be adjusted to meet age appropriateness.
2. Gender- Despite the dual roles men and women tend to fill, most individuals can be segmented (and sold to) based on gender-specific interests or needs.
3. Location- Values and culture tend to vary based on demographics. Having a clear understanding of regional difference will improve your targeted messages.
4. Education Level- Similar to age appropriateness, education levels should determine how you address your prospects and what benefits they will find in your product or service.
5. Income- The needs and wants from one social class to another should be a guide to the types of products and services you should be selling them.
6. Marital Status- The values, needs, and desires of married persons greatly differ from those that are single. Marketing family messages to single persons (and vice versa) can lose the deal for you.
7. What Keeps Them Up At Night- This is the most important one. You've got to know your prospect's fears, worries, concerns, excitements, hopes and dreams. When you know the conversation inside your prospect's head, you can enter it, speak to it, and build a relationship that leads to a customer."

"Here's a simple business plan that works:
Do it once, then "Rinse and Repeat" (doesn't that sound familiar? :) )
Step 1. Market Research - Analyze which niches are worth entering first. If there is competition that's better, that means people are spending money. Search a few of the main keywords in Google...Bunch of Adword Ads? If yes then it's a good niche.
See this a common mistake, with newbies, always trying to find a niche that has little or no competition...that's most likely because there's no money to be made.
Step 2. Long Tail Keyword Research - Long tail keyword research is looking for more then one keyword or a phrase that someone would type into the Google search. Like if you were searching for "cars" - you would search for keywords like "2008Mustang GT" without the quotes in both.
These keywords have less search traffic per month, but they are easier to dominate the first page for, add up a bunch of these and you have major converting traffic. Because being more specific with models etc...like "cameras" vs. the exact brand and model you will find that these keywords convert like gold and are very easy to get free traffic for.
Step 3. Review Pages - These are what I call "money pages", because it's where the moolah is made. These can be simple 1 to 3 pages reviews of the product you are an affiliate for. Simple reviews work either by using a story about why and how you reviewed the product why you like it or dislike it or even just a 3 product comparison rated against each other with your affiliate link to all 3.
These can be setup using free blogs, squidoo pages, hub pages,etc. which are free to join and use, and Google loves so...it's a WIN/WIN.
Step 4. Traffic - Now this is usually a pain in the butt for most people, but don't fret, you can get traffic in the first hour if you have a budget to play with by paying per click for Google Adwords on those long tail keywords which are better converting and cheaper."----------
